Co-operation between Helitour Oy and the Finnish Frontier Guard flourishing
CPL(H)-training course 1/2009 has recently succesfully come to end and three flight cadets from the Finnish Frontier Guard have passed the FCAA theory exam and the skill tests and have received their licenses. In addtion to that the similar course 2/2009 is proceeding faster than scheduled and the students are expected to receive their licenses just after summer 2010.
Accordingly Helitour Oy was awarded in a bid contest a contract to train two Flight Instructors (FI(H)) to the Frontied Guard.
To assure enough instructor force for the above, two experienced Helitour flight instructors received their FIFI(H) authorizations recently from the FCAA after succesfull check flights.
Currently Helitour Oy employs four full day FI(H)'s with FIFI(H)-authorization, two of them having also Flight Examiner authorization FE(H).
Helitour oy to win a major contract award
Helitour Oy won an international bid competition organized by Tallinn Technical Universty, Tallinn, Estonia. The project, to be commenced during March 2010, consists of a series of helicopter flights to measure thickness of the ice on Gulf of Finland. The project utilizes an AS350 B2 - helicopter, which externally carries a high technology laser/radio frequency measuring unit. Required accurate flight paths are demanding for the pilot. The two year contract was signed early March 2010, whichafter the commencing of flights started.
